On newer Windows 10 releases and all Windows 11 installations driver security has been enhanced. For the majority of users who can’t afford the commercial alternatives to com0com there is a work-around. That security feature can be turned off to enable com0com to function. For maximum security in that situation I suggest turning it back on whenever adding new software or making any system changes. After confirming that those changes are safe, then turn security back off while using any software that depends on com0com. It’s not perfect, but until we can get a current signed version of com0com, it’s all we have available to us. (Please research details yourself prior to disabling any Windows security feature.)
