3/26/26 – This represents a complete re-write of the program. The user interface is now in one program with the radio interface in a second. Eventually, this model will allow remote control over the internet. By separating the two functions, numerous bugs and timing glitches were also eliminated.
12/5/24 – I’ve added a page (Developer’s Notes) to keep users informed of issues as they crop up. Please refer to it often.
12/4/24 – Database updated.
This is beta software. I’ve changed the licensing model, simplifying both code and the user. The current release includes a license that expires 1/1/27. I anticipate extending that each time there is a new release based on bug reports. Eventually, if there is enough demand there will likely be a nominal fee to cover the cost of the website. If there is no demand, I will eventually release a version as open source and close down the website.
Both the software and this website are a work in progress. As bugs and typos are corrected and suggestions implemented both will be updated.
Expectations for beta testers:
- To continue to have an active license you are encouraged to email bug information including any console output as well as what you were trying to do at the time the problem appeared. That should include a screenshot of relevant configuration tabs if possible.
- Also relevant are feature requests and comments about the website (including typos).
- In return, major contributors will receive an extended active license at no charge once a general release is made. (There is no cost to anyone during this beta test phase.)
- Until the license renewal is automatic you will have to request a license update via email.
- Occasionally you may be asked to try to reproduce a problem and report back your results. You may be sent a special release with additional reporting code included to better isolate the bug.
To become a beta tester and obtain a longer-term license:
- Presently, only hams fluent in written English should participate since detailed bug descriptions are being requested.
- Before requesting, please be certain that the software interface is something that you would like to continue to use.
- Send an email to support@rigexecutive.com. The subject should include “License Activation”
- The body should include your name, call sign, and email address.
- Include in the email any special qualifications that you feel enhance your ability to beta-test software.
- You will receive a license key as well as a link to an instrumented version of the software to assist in documenting bugs.
In return for your support, upon release of the Production version, you will be given an unrestricted non-expiring license.
